24 October 2026 Public Art Abu Dhabi Al Ain Opening Performance: Al Nahma 7:45 PM, Al Qattara Oasis Marking the opening of the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial in Al Ain, this moving performance unfolds across the city, incorporating works by M'barek Bouhchichi, Reena Kallat, and Asunción Molinos Gordo in Al Qattara Oasis. At its centre is a poem inspired by Al Nahma, the traditional Emirati sea shanties associated with pearl diving. The text is incorporated into the works through perforations and wooden logs, in the form of Braille, translating this maritime tradition into a tactile and visual language that becomes part of the performance journey.
