As an extension of the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial, multidisciplinary artist Robin Rhode presents a live mural and dance performance at NOMAD Abu Dhabi, bringing together painting, movement, and performance. Born in South Africa and based in Berlin, Rhode is known for transforming two-dimensional drawings and murals into dynamic narratives through performance, photography, and stop-motion animation. The programme extends this approach into a live setting, with a mural created alongside a choreographed performance that responds directly to the evolving work. The performance also connects to Rhode’s Biennial presentation at the former Abu Dhabi Terminal Hall, where 80 individually printed paper posters come together to form a photographic wall-tile mural.
